Jermaine is an associate based in our Johor Bahru office, where her main area of practice is general litigation, debt recovery and real estate. 

Aside from the above matters, Jermaine has also represented various property developers and individual clients in sale transaction for residential properties.

EXPERIENCE:

  • Represented a contractor in defending arbitration construction dispute claim in relation to the validity of the issuance of Certificate of Completion and Compliance, Defect Liability Period and Settlement of Final Account under PAM Contract. 
  • Represented an individual landowner in relation to the claim in tort of nuisance and tort of trespass for encroaching the land. 
  • Represented an individual agent and the second car seller company in defending Hire Purchase Dispute at Session Court of Johor Bahru. 
  • Represented a director of a contractor company and company secretary of the company in defending the claim in relation to Shareholder Agreement Dispute in High Court of Johor Bahru. 
  • Represented and giving advice on individuals and/or company in various debt recovery action, including Bankruptcy and Winding Up Petition. 
  • Represented and giving advice to landlord in relation to the Distress Application, for recovery of rental due and payable.
  • Represented Contractor to a claim against developer and main contractor in breach of the SPA and the Settlement Agreement for in contra-property dispute matter.
  • Represented flooring sub-contractor in debt recovery action against the debtor. 
  • Advice and represented individual clients on divorce, will and probate matters.
  • Advised and represented individuals on unilateral divorce petition in obtaining Interim Maintenance and Interim Protection Order. 
  • Experience in various interlocutory application, (ie, summary judgment, striking out, transfer of proceedings under O.57 Rules of Court of Malysia 2012, expunge affidavits tainted with illegality, stay of proceedings, stay of execution, application under O.14A Rules of Court 2012, amendment of pleadings, etc)
  • Represented various property developers and individual clients in sale transaction for residential properties.
