Jun Kit graduated with a Bachelor of Laws (Hons) degree from the University of Reading, United Kingdom in 2013.

He was called to the Bar of England and Wales as a barrister of Inner Temple in 2015 and subsequently admitted as an advocate and solicitor of the High Court of Malaya in 2016.

Jun Kit’s area of practice ranges from mergers and acquisitions, private equity and venture capital investments, equity capital market transactions to banking and finance.

In the area of equity capital market transactions, Jun Kit has assisted companies with initial public offering on the ACE Market of Bursa Securities as well as fund raising exercises such as placements. 

He has experience in public mergers and acquisitions such as take-over transactions of public companies listed on Bursa Securities, and in private mergers and acquisitions such as private equity and venture capital funds on their investments. His banking and finance experience includes assisting financial institutions and corporations with project financing and mergers and acquisitions financing.

  • Initial public offering of a group of Malaysian companies that are principally involved in the provision of supporting services for satellite, mobile and fibre optic telecommunications networks, on the ACE Market of Bursa Securities (Malaysian Stock Exchange) raising approximately RM39.55 million.
  • Acquisition by a Malaysian public company listed on the Main Market of Bursa Securities (Malaysian Stock Exchange) of 100% equity interest in a group of companies (local and foreign) principally involved in the production and trading of pesticide products and speciality chemicals, and research and development activities and the provision of laboratory services, for a consideration of approximately RM596.79 million.
  • Disposal by a Malaysian private company of 86.65% equity interest in a group of companies principally involved in manufacturing of cables and wires, to a company listed on the Main Market of Bursa Securities (Malaysian Stock Exchange) for a disposal consideration of approximately RM119.42 million.

  • Acquisition by a wholly-owned subsidiary of a Malaysian public company listed on the Main Market of Bursa Securities (Malaysian Stock Exchange) of 51% equity interest in a Malaysian company principally involved in the provision and implementation of solar photovoltaic (“PV”) projects for residential, commercial and industrial properties and large scale solar PV plants, for a consideration of approximately RM21.16 million.
  • Acquisition by a Malaysian public company listed on the ACE Market of Bursa Securities (Malaysian Stock Exchange) of 60% equity interest in a Malaysian company principally involved in the distribution of consumer goods, for a consideration of approximately RM10.80 million.
  • Investment by a private equity fund of RM40 million in a group of Malaysian companies principally involved in manufacturing, distribution, wholesale or trading of animal feed, animal feed additives, consumer and household products.
  • Investment by a private equity fund of RM30 million in a group of companies (local and foreign) principally involved in the business of self-service laundry, providing laundry systems and machinery solutions and supplying related machinery and equipment.
  • Investment by a private equity fund of RM30 million in a group of companies (local and foreign) principally involved as an industrial solutions provider specialising in smart manufacturing.
  • Investment by a private equity fund of up to USD9 million in a group of companies (local and foreign) principally involved in designing, manufacturing, delivering, installing retail visual elements signage, furniture, store fittings, shelving systems, display units, LED light source to the retail industry.
  • Registration of a Malaysian private company as a private equity corporation with the Securities Commission Malaysia and to operate as a Malaysian private equity fund that is Shariah compliant of up to RM525 million focusing on investments in real estate in Malaysia.
  • Advising on the set-up of an offshore venture capital fund of up to USD50 million capital commitment focusing on early stage investments in high growth or technology companies based in countries that are members of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN).
  • Advising on the set-up of an offshore venture capital fund of up to USD30 million capital commitment focusing on Series A investments in private companies that are tech-enabled which have a nexus in Pakistan.
  • Advising on the set-up of an offshore venture capital fund of up to USD200 million focusing on Series B to Series C investments in private companies that operate or plan to operate businesses related to telecommunications, media and technology, consumer and other technology-driven industries, logistics and Islamic investment/Taqwa Tech having substantial markets or operations based in countries that are members of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN).
  • Advising several consortiums on their respective applications to Central Bank Malaysia (Bank Negara Malaysia) for a digital banking license.
